To spin things in a positive light, at least there are more councillors representing the “progressive” parties than not.

(I concede that the definition for progressive may be subject to opinion)

I don’t have to care anymore, it’s more that I felt betrayed by them choosing to align with Tories and do nothing as they got stabbed in the back over and over again

In the 1920s and 30s, fascism was growing in every capitalist nation too. It was mostly a timing issue that the western allies were attacked before they could be taken over internally.

          So maybe Spain?

But yeah, I’m holding my ground with my community.

Not looking forward to the next GE. With a foreign partner, if they start changing the rules for those with indefinite leave we’ll have to reconsider if we remain here. But I won’t exactly blame the people who vote Reform either. Labour aren’t exactly giving people much hope. Feels like there’s nobody I can personally vote for right now outside of a tactical vote.

I usually think of first past the post as a system where you’re voting to keep someone out, not voting to get someone in.

I think tactical voting is the only way, and we should be promoting that as much as possible.

Forward Democracy us the best source of tactical voting advice in my opinion. I think that as “the tactical vote” becomes increasingly known and targeting by parties, we will see a lot of misinformation in this area to try and confuse people to vote for the wrong tactical choice.
