Keir Starmer says ‘agitators’ will be blocked from attending Tommy Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom event.
Seven people hoping to attend a far-right rally in central London on Saturday have been blocked from entering the country by the home secretary, Shabana Mahmood.
Keir Starmer, the prime minister, promised on Monday to block “far-right agitators” hoping to attend the Unite the Kingdom event on 16 May organised by Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon.
Joey Mannarino, a US-based commentator, and Valentina Gomez, a Maga influencer, had their authorisation to enter the UK withdrawn on the grounds that their presence “would not be conducive to the public good”. The identities of the other five banned people are not known.
I saw the headline and immediately thought yes they were Americans
The paradox of tolerance is that intolerance can never be tolerated.
Tolerance is a social contract. Only those who abide by the contract are covered by the contract. Intolerant people do not tolerate others, and therefore they cannot benefit from the social contract.
Can’t believe someone downvoted this
Free speech absolutists that don’t recognise that telling people to kill people, burn down their houses, or sink the boats they’re on is a very obvious line and not a “slippery slope”.
Not to mention the fact that the exact same people are calling on the government to stop foreigners from coming into the country stirring up trouble… Is precisely what they are doing here.
They aren’t shutting down the rally, they are simply refusing to allow foreign interests to intervene in British politics in a way which is detrimental to an ordered and civil society (e.g. these are people that promote rioting)
Mannarino is constantly posting racist hate about migrants in Europe and the UK, that every migrant is a rapist etc.
He’s found his niche which is fanning outrage on social media. It’s good that he’s been banned in my opinion. These deplorables are a waste of space.
