maybe its because of cultural globalization people see lives with certain leaders for years and years on end? it would honestly be weird if Xi Jinping wasnt leading China and people will notice when he dies
i think the people are starting to feel that liberal democracy is just a chaotic waste of time. people see the chaos that comes from being ruled by left-leaning parties and then right-leaning parties and so on.
at some point you get exhausted of violent protests everytime the president changes and election social turmoil. people pointlessly lose relationships and friendships over voting differencs just for nothing to change really OR only change for the worse. social cohesion is terrible under bourgeoisie democracy.
i think people are losing interest in liberal democracy overall. it is natural, it only serves the rich of society and not the working class majority.
what does become concerning is that its NOT certain people will go to the left. truth is, people might actually go to the right if they become comfortable with the idea of one party if they dont form class conciousness and choose a communist party.
Most people now understand that their flavor of liberal democracy has failed, maybe for many years but there hasn’t been an alternative. Now that China success has become mainstream, seriously you now have normie streamers touring China in awe and chinamaxxing, people are becoming more open to alternative goverments. Even the poster boy of liberal democracy, the US, is a fucking joke for any serious person.
I don’t think it’s because of better attitudes towards non-Western countries. It’s just that political parties that expected by naive electoralists to uphold liberal democratic values have done a terrible job at governance paving the way for explicit fascists to take power.
Like if you are a working class Labour supporter, what is it they are doing that will make you give them a smidge of your faith and goodwill? They took the reigns from a shambolic Tory government and somehow did even worse.
Similarly, if you are a Democrat supporter, what has your party done in response to the fascist Trump regime that you can confidently call an earnest opposition to the tearing down the whatever little democratic institutions there were?
The truth is that Liberal politicians don’t do shit because they don’t want to. They have been not doing shit for so long that they are running out of excuses. People are starting to catch on to that.
Can we please stop calling liberal states “democracies”, those are ones of the least democratic states in the world rn. I know its technically the “formal” name but i just cringe so hard.

To answer the question. I think that the more that the economic conditions worsen, the more people “get into politics”. And naturally, they dont like realizing that they are little more than cattle for the Bourgeoisie.
