What pooped was the idiot companies that thought they needed a walled garden for their shit so customers are forced to use 50 apps. Data is valuable but data of just your own products is worthless.
Should have just opened the APIs and let users use it how they want.
Also people have gotten burned by now by their locked down smart home products being bricked after a few years because they manufacturer doesn’t want to support them/went under etc
Yeah, it’s the only reason I haven’t replaced the govee lights when degoogling my life. I’m still in the process but almost done.
