For a while now, my MacBook Air has been putting applications to the side of the screen. What’s the reason behind this and how do I get it to stop? I’ve searched but I must be using the wrong words because I can’t find a solution to this anywhere.

Stage manager, either top right of the task bar “control center” and click it to turn it off or go to system settings somewhere and turn it off, search “state manager”

I don’t even understand how it can be useful when you can basically put an app on a different desktop, and wipe between them with 3 fingers on the trackpad

There are bugs in this stage manager when you select, hold and drag a app to another window and back to the previous window, the app will still be there but u can’t click on it. You can’t close it minimize it or maximize it either. You can still access window setting for that app.

And even if it minimizes in the stage manager it will not align with other apps in the stage (either slightly to the left or too right)
