Main goal: To set up a Synology NAS in such a way that it will automatically shut down when it detects a loss in power / low power on the UPS.
From this support article, it sounds like this can be accomplished if I connect the UPS to the NAS via a USB cable. Looking on Amazon, I found this. But I have general uncertainty if I’m on the right path or not. Could someone confirm? Thanks for the help!
It would depend on whether your UPS supports it and if that serial cable is the correct one for your UPS.
I use this UPS with my DS920+ and works fine. It came with the USB-USB cable needed.
