Bus fares are scheduled to go up in July, the first of two rounds of planned price increases that Saskatoon Transit says will help address the rising costs of running the service.

Fare increase effective July 1 to $3.25 for a single adult trip. Prices to rise again in January 2027.

    Transit fees should be free, it should be a social system to get people around. Then there should be some public transit between different cities and towns in Saskatchewan, this should also be free. Encourage people to take public transit, and make it easier for those who need to use it to afford it.

    Maybe my far left socialist beliefs are showing through but transit should not be a reason people cannot get to work, education, or out of their home.

      I agree, however the concern would be that the free buses would be utilized as rolling homeless shelters.
