Does this mean I need to contact FedEX or is this a normal occurrence? (I’d prefer for it to actually arrive when it’s supposed to as my schedule aligns well with the expected date)

My shipment was held by Canadian border services for about a week, which was my delivery exception. Check the shipping/tracking update page for more details.

This seems like a scam. Don’t click any links or send anything to that email address. If you want to be careful make sure you contact the carrier using a known valid email address from their website, not one this email may give you.

Edit: Wow, airship needs to change their email format so it doesn’t look like a scam.

I know right xD. Only reason why I trusted it was it came with a tracking number that was accepted by FedEX as my package.

If it’s stuck in customs (normal), this is what aftership shows. Fedex’s website will give you more information.
If it is customs, then like others and you have said, it’ll continue on in a couple of days.

If it’s not, and Fedex’s system just says that it’s “Pending” or something along those lines, contact both their support and framework’s soon.
That happened to mine, and Fedex eventually just said they couldn’t help me unless I gave them exact serial numbers (not product numbers) of the parts in the box. :P Framework support just shipped a new one and it showed up in 2 days. No questions asked.

Little update, apparently it’s a common thing were FedEX needs to contact Framework to allow the package through. It’s annoying but it should only be another day or two…. Hopefully.

Did you have to contact FedEx in order for them to do that? Mine has this same status.

According to the email, FedEX will contact framework and get them to forward the package. I’d give it time

If you don’t mind me asking but why did you buy the chromebook? I can never reason spending $1000 on one

Aftership is a post tracking company, tracking shipments by many carriers. They basically provide a single interface to the gazillion of international carriers and their individual tracking sites.

Do you have the actual FedEx tracking number? Go to fedex.com and enter it there, see what it says. My guess is the Aftership system has read some Fedex message there for your package and “translated” it into a generic Aftership message.
