    He’s right. You know how I know? Because people are still put to death every year.

    Also, if I faced life in prison, I’d prefer the death penalty, because spending decades behind bars growing old and waiting to snuff it sounds like a much more terrible punishment.

      Legit I always figured if I was going to take the fall (deserved or not) and faced spending life in prison, I’m going to do everything in my power to die via someone else killing me, whether it’s cops or death penalty with no appeal.

      Fuck spending the majority of my life in an area smaller than my smallest apartment.

    He’s correct, but because the American justice system isn’t a deterrent as a whole. It’s built to be easy to fall into and very difficult to escape the reincarceration cycle. For a lot of inner-city and poor people in America it’s viewed more as a reality of life than something to be avoided
