Was hoping someone could help me sort this out. I just installed a cat 6 network to my office/family room which was on the other side of the house from my modem. I have a wire running from my modem to a switch that is on one side of my office and then a wire from the switch to my computer. In the modem, as well has the switch I have a google wifi point plugged in each as well. My ISP is xfinity and I should have 800mbps. When I run the speed test on the google home app I get ~800 (last run 846 mbps), but when I run multiple different speed tests on my computer I sit in the 60-80 mbps range. Any idea where the issue may be? Thanks in advance.

ISP Xfinity 800mbps

Modem Netgear Nighthawk CM 1150V

Switch Netgear GS305E

    Is this the connection?

Modem > Google node > Ethernet Cable to room > Switch > devices (Google node, PC, etc).

    Then test like Pools-3015 indicated.

Do you not have a router? If you connect modem to switch, I’m not sure how you are getting an IP unless it is sharing the one public IP you were given by the ISP. You should have modem > router > switch > PC.
