I use Windows 11 most of the time and sometimes Ubuntu 23.04 (will update to 23.10 later). I know Windows 11 should support it (assuming latest versions). Since Ubuntu 23.10 uses the latest 6.5 Linux kernel, which brings Wi-Fi7 support, it seems to be able to support it too. I’m just unsure about the hardware part and the overall compatibility. (I’m on 13th gen i7-1360P)

Edit: I don’t have high hopes

Seems like it may not work

I’ll email framework about this, see if I can get an official statement from then and have them update the list of compatible Wi-Fi cards

    I have 4 systems:

    1- work/render system amd x670 based

    2- gaming system intel b760 based i5 13500

    3 - laptop amd based

    4 - download mff pc intel b660 based i3 12100

Bought 4 be200 adapters, working very fine in intel based systems after installing drivers, and not even booting into bios in amd systems, will update after i try a pcie adapter in x670 system

Attempted a replacement in my Legion 7 Gen 6 AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, Nvidia 3080/16GB and it failed to post. Swapped back to the old MediaTek that it came with and I was at login within a few seconds.

So do we have no options for a Wifi7 upgrade with AMD?

This is a real bummer. $750 router sitting in the other room and I can’t even stretch its legs without an intel based system.

tested Intel BE200 with AMD B450 board and Ryzen 5700G, result: the system stuck at board brand logo, so the system can’t boot, even keyboard does not respond.

but no idea what the incompatibility could be, because Intel BE200 specs does not mention anything about compatibility issues with AMD CPUs, neither with PCIe version or specific chipsets.

I own a Batch 4 AMD FW13. Just received a BE200 in the mail today. Laptop would not boot/post with it installed. Just got the power ight illuminated but no other signs of life.

As soon as I put back the original mediatek card, it worked right away. Seems us AMD users will have a longer wait for internal WiFi 7.

I contacted ASRock regarding the compatibility of my AMD X570-based ASRock motherboard. According to them, the BE200 Wi-Fi card only works with 600 and 700 series Intel chipsets/platforms, and that AMD platforms do not support Intel Wi-Fi 7 cards.

I’ve got two on the way anyway. I’ll give it a go, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll re-sell on eBay hopefully for a small profit as I got a pretty good deal from Mouser on these.

Tested in my OptiPlex 7060 with i5 8500. Worked fine. Just had to install the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers from the Intel website as they’re not built into Windows or available through Windows Update yet.

So it seems on Intel platforms, the BE2000 is a drop-in replacement. AMD, for some reason, not so much.

Followed up with ASRock asking if AMD support was something that may come in the future and they said:

We have reported the problem to AMD but currently AMD motherboard do not support Wi-Fi 7. Supporting Wi-Fi 7 depends on AMD’s plan, if AMD plans to support Wi-Fi 7 in the future, it will be announced on the website.

I’m looking forward to your experience (I have an MSI X710 I want to upgrade from AX200 to get Bluetooth LE Audio, so either an AX211 or a BE200)

Tried in my ASrock X570M Pro4. No go. Doesn’t POST. So weird.
I’ve got an OptiPlex 7060. Will try one in there and see how I go.
