Its not about whether they can do it, its kind of more about why we should remove the human elements of the game. The refs are very, very, VERY frustrating to deal with, but also who doesnt enjoy the chain gang lining up to measure if the ball crossed the 1st down marker? Humans like suspense
Agreed. It’s all about the drama. They are humans and make mistakes, as long as they make mistakes equally for all opponents, then it shouldn’t matter.
The larger issue with NFL refs is that they are only part time. That means they need to have other jobs. It also opens them up to potential corruption for people who want their bet to be a sure thing.
