Someone on FB said it went from docsis3.1 to 3.0. the down light is supposed to be blue. Randomly moving the modem a certain way I can get it blue but only a few seconds. It’s also making my speeds almost dial up speeds. Is there a way to fix it?
If you move it and it changes behaviour, that’s some sort of bad mechanical contact. Cabling, socket.
If the it’s connected with coax, make sure the cable is screwed all the way in. I doubt turning it off and back on won’t do anything, but it doesn’t hurt to try

Probably a bad modem or bad ethernet cable
It should be blue if it’s bonded with all carriers to make docsis 3.1. Could be the modem could also be a RF issue assuming you’re in a HFC network.
Could be a firmware update that they may have pushed out. Have you tried calling your carrier?
It’s just a modem that I bought myself cause I upgraded my plan with my ISP to 1gb and the modem they provided couldn’t do those speed. But the modem does have a login page and says there was a SW upgrade that failed in the logs
Double check your model. I have an Arris, all four green is what i want to see. Flashing is an error/synching
Have you logged into the modem to check the error logs for reoccurring errors and also check the signal level screen for Uncorrectables.
I just did and saw the software update failed and a bunch of event types that I have no clue what they mean.
Do a factory reset in their.
I guess that is by pressing that small reset button? If so I already did that twice. If it isna software update issue, it fails either way
I meant inside the modems software.
Ok so how would I do that then?

No where in there is there a reset. I’ve looked but anyway I have a tech coming to look at it on Saturday. Hopefully he can fix it or at the very least if he has modems on hand go back to renting
Try going to the manufacturers support website and downloading its newest firmware onto a computer and manually updating it. Id download it from my phones internet but you could use someone else’s network.
We used to have a modem like that. Our upload was green but the download was blue. It’s just if they offer 3.1 in ur area that supports it. If not will be green. Will still work like normal. What Xfinity told me.
Flashing On Not applicable — icon does not flash. Green: Power is properly connected. Scanning for a downstream (receive) channel Internet connection. Check with your service provider for availability in your area
If you’ve already doubled checked the coax connections being nice and tight, call your isp. It’s almost certainly a signal level issue or something else on their end.
Are your speeds poor?
Who cares about lights I just care about the end result LOL
If you have a spare coax cable that you can use for testing (even if it is a short one), try swapping it out, and see if your blue lights come back on.
I’ve had borderline / intermittent coax cables in the past.
The levels look good although you are missing some downstream and upstream channels. Should be 32x4 at least. Do the signal levels change when you move the modem? Also, what part are you moving? Sounds like a broken coaxial port on the modem to me or something like that.
If that’s the case idk it’s broken on the inside or not but you can’t even move the port. They did say there was an outage and are fixing it but I saw no trucks in the area when I left. Unless it could be in another nearby town that also affects other towns. But I do have a tech coming out tomorrow that I will explain everything I did and maybe suggest to him a new modem just to see, yea I’ll end up paying the rental fee again but it’s better than nothing
Reset it
I’ve tried everything from unplugging it for 60 seconds. Resetting it by that small reset hole to replacing the coax cable. Talked to the ISP they did some resets on their end. Nothing. So they scheduled a tech to come out and take a look.
Had this happen awhile ago where a reset fixed it but this time my speeds barely get over 1Mbps and a simple reset doesn’t do anything.
Cancel the service and get Fiber optics.
