Assembled from 12 overlapping Right-side MastCam deBayered images. Could it be a meteorite, or is it just a dark rock out of place. The rover has instruments that can quickly tell us if it’s rich in iron-nickel, or a basaltic rock.
I’d be rather surprised if this is a meteorite, especially an iron meteorite. I’m not seeing enough in terms of regmaglypts or any of the usual telltales (e.g. Widmanstätten).
Could this be a stony meteorite? I can’t bring myself to see a fusion crust here in any wise. There are no flow lines that I can identify. The sharp, small protuberances at the bottom right would also be very unusual for a meteorite in my experience.
Of course, I could be wrong, but it doesn’t resemble any that I’ve seen. The science team doesn’t seem to be showing much interest in this one; and I would swear I’ve seen similar rocks on this mission, but none are coming to mind at the moment. I’ll see if I can scare up anything similar…

Looks that way, they already drove away, so we’ll see if they add anything into the mission blog when we finally get one. We’re still overdue last weeks blog, maybe they are still recovering from the long holiday weekend 🤣
You picked my curiosity.
