@[email protected] responded to a meme about swarmgenders to call me a troll for being nonbinary. Out of curiosity, I tried an experiment, and asked if there are any xenogenders they respect. They responded by saying it’s “over the line” of made up specialist [sic] snowflake shit.

Make no mistake: This is the average view of people who yell about how xenogender people are “trolls”.

Well, you read the webpage. You know swarms are natural, inspiring, nonbinary, and real. What’s hard to swallow about that? Seems it has a great deal of similarity with binary human gender roles, in terms of the social structure of what it means to be a gender.

I don’t think anyone is doubting swarms existing in nature. As a human gender though…

Okay but you haven’t actually explained what’s hard to believe. You’ve just vaguely gestured at the whole thing and expressed incredulity. Can you explain what specifically is hard to buy?

It’s hard to believe it as a real human gender. Why? It just sounds ridiculous. Doesn’t go much deeper than that.

Do you just find the idea of all genders other than male and female hard to believe? And if not, what’s a nonbinary gender you do believe in? (Note that identities like genderfluid or bigender aren’t genders themselves, they’re combinations of actual genders. And agender isn’t a gender either)

I don’t find the idea of there being other genders hard to believe. Not sure I know others than what you mentioned.

Okay, so the idea in abstract isn’t hard to swallow, but in 100% of cases when you’ve been told a specific xenogender, you had trouble believing it. Why do you think that is?

Isn’t every single xenogender going to be out there compared to what you’ve heard of? You’ve only heard of the normal stuff. You haven’t heard any of the weird stuff. This is your first time seeing just how big the world is in terms of the diversity of human experiences. You should embrace it, it’s a new experience, you’re a tourist in an unfamiliar realm.
