Following #Egypt’s historic 4-2 penalty shootout victory over Australia on 3 July, which secured the team’s first-ever advancement to the Round of 16, head coach Hossam Hassan celebrated on the pitch at Dallas Stadium by waving the #Palestinian flag.

In emotional post-match remarks, Hassan dedicated the win to the “good and noble” Palestinian people, stating, “My heart and soul are with them.”

Egypt was later eliminated from the 2026 #FIFA #WorldCup following a 3–2 loss to Argentina in the Round of 16 on 7 July.
