Hello! I am looking to get a new WiFi router for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. We currently live in his families basement and our current WiFi router is not even in the house because they live on a generational property, so it’s in his grandparents house. Between that and being in the basement he can barely get his tv to work sometimes and he wants to start playing some video games. I need help deciding what type of setup would be best. Any recommendations on what kind of router to get and the best way to set it up would be appreciated! Thank you!!

A new Wifi router would not be the best solution. If there’s an available conduit between the houses I would go for fiber install and get 2 ethernet to fiber adapters then get plug that into your current router or look at directional antenna assuming you have line of sight between the houses.
