I think so few charge cycles because the MacBook was used constantly with the power supply, but the battery is already old in time.

I just bought one of those same ones with a new battery for 1080$ after tax a month ago. So I would imagine you should be getting a better deal since it’s black friday and cyber monday and there’s all the deals.

I’d expect you could get it for like 950$ with the deals, but 1100$ is fair.

I just bought one for $1100 with 7 cycles on the battery. It was apple certified refurbished so it was basically perfect

The battery may be a problem But the price it’s fair See if the seller can sell it at 900-1000 Due to the battery

Even if it were in 50% it would still be doing great numbers compared to other laptops.

I honestly would not replace it until it only last about 4 hours on a charge. At 86% probably still does 10 hours.

Likely true (I own an M1 Pro and Air), I’m more concerned about battery swelling. The chemical changes are accelerating, and the first casualty is the trackpad. Worth $200 to get it swapped out asap.

Also true! I would definitely have a repair shop have a look at it to see if the battery needs to be swapped. It could be that the OG owner was just using it constantly for heavy work.

My M1 Max also has horrible battery health with very little cycles. It seems to be a common problem on these Pros, based on a quick online research

I’d add two hundred and pick it up at a discount (there are still some cool deals on Amazon)

106 charges at 94%. I use AlDente as I stay plugged in most of the time.

I found out Sonoma limiting the charging because I was not using the battery lately… So I just un-installed aldente… I was using the free version

I still can’t get it to limit my charging. Probably because i use the battery daily, just don’t want to overcharge it for 8hrs straight.

You can Google apphousekitchen, and you’ll have it there. It’s a battery charging limiter, so it wouldn’t charge to 100% (which is stressful for the battery) when you don’t need it

What is this app for? Does being plugged in most of the time helps to increase battery life?
