Not sure what game some people watched but Doku did fuck all. If sprinting into space and dribbling the ball out for a goal kick or smashing it into the first defender is a world class performance then wilfred zaha is the best winger in the world

He’s going to be a better player but the praise for this performance reminds me a lot of Adama Traore’s early Wolves days. He was absolutely unplayable and a menace every time he stepped on the pitch, and finished the season with 1 goal and 3 assists.

Who gives a shit anout some made ip rating that over values dribbles. 70% of the time he got the ball he blasted it to the first defender or dribbled out the goal line for a goal kick lmao

Still made me worry every time he got the ball. People are saying no end product but all it takes is one well delivered ball to the box and they’ve got enough people who can finish. Luckily he couldn’t manage that today

He did manage it a few times, City’s players just couldn’t put it in the back of the net (partly do to bad finishing and partly due to Liverpool players blocking shots).

There is a reason he got MOTM from Opta without having scored or assisted.

I used to be so afraid of Phil Foden, but… honestly it feels like he’s regressed a bit.

He wants to play central but Alverez took his spot. Grealish and Doku start over him wide, so he probably feels threatened.

It’s a system thing, Alvarez and Foden usually play on opposite sides of midfield. Pep prefers a left footer on the left of midfield and vice versa, the problem is when City move to their 442 shape in defence neither Alvarez nor Foden can play alongside Rodri so Bernardo has to play.

If Alvarez gets dropped it means Lewis or Nunes can play on the right of midfield, Foden plays on the left of midfield and Bernardo can play RW. In the Leipzig game we saw exactly this and it was probably City’s best performance all season.

Hard to see Grealish playing ahead of Doku now, he’s improving with every game imo

Glad we secured a point here as many of our players looked tired and we can absolutely win at Anfield with a better time slot and the crowd.

This game was a prime example of why you shouldn’t have the biggest fixtures of the season at fucking 12:30 in the afternoon. Both sides looked very slow and tired. If this was played at 17:30 it would have been a way better game.

If you want the best product possible you don’t put one of the biggest games of the season on at 12:30 after an international break.

We looked tired today; it’s almost like half our players just flew in a couple of days ago (conveniently a bunch of City players got a nice little holiday after faking injuries).

    Premier League played themselves.

Prems at a crossroads. They are either gonna have to punish City and Chelsea or breakaway will happen.

Why should most of the teams have to watch City cheat their way to success?

Just leave make a new one just like the prem did from league one back in the day.

A good result considering the early kick off post an international break.

Loved the fight from us… Some silly moments and few poor passes in final 3rd but this team is cooking…!!!

Matip is the closest I see to What Stones does for us. If he played for us he would’ve been insane next to Rodri in my eyes.

Yeah, I’m a big fan. A great defender and also I love the way he takes the game on with his runs down the middle.

Do you think Klopp asked Trent to try and stop Doku from dribbling past him? Or do you think they realised that wouldn’t be a great strategy, so accept you can’t stop him and let him dribble and force him into positions where he can’t produce a top scoring opportunity?

Just wondering what the top managerial minds of Reddit think about defensive tactics. Might be able to teach Klopp a thing or two.

Still very raw though. There were a couple occasions where he should’ve been at the end of the cross from the other flank and when he should’ve probably Released the pass earlier but all in all he’s indeed very good.

Yeah, his control and dribbling is so good, once he gets the end pass/shooting in, what a dangerous player

He wasn’t great today. Had that good run to the byline and drew that foul but other then was pretty silent all match. The best thing he did was offer enough of a threat to pin TAA back

It was pragmatic from Klopp, and it paid off. I’ll take a draw at Etihad, but our team still has a long way to go.

It’s a great result, especially as City had much greater control of the game and more/better chances

We had a whole bunch of players who played all around the world for the last two weeks.

      City… Didn’t.

A draw is a seriously great result and the performance wasn’t as bad as some are making out.

Of the available players, literally only Ederson ended up not playing a single international game I think. Not sure why Liverpool fans care so much about City players playing in international games
