Birthright citizenship is more complicated since most people will not have another citizenship, and the UN forbids making people stateless. (Will that stop the U.S., I dunno)

The second amendment has always been about fear of black people.

The ones supporting this government? Hiding behind flimsy excuses, at best, but we know it was never more than a pretext.
The ones intending to actually do anything about it? Hopefully keeping low, organising, training, establishing secure and redundant networks for logistics and communication, preparing strategies and contingencies and sure as hell not announcing their plans on public, unencrypted channels.
Resistance (whether violent or non-violent) needs to be both well-prepared and well-timed to be effective. They need public sentiment on their side if they’re gonna challenge the state, and support for violent measures is harder to come by. So long as there is hope that democratic elections will change things, that public is unlikely to approve of non-democratic methods.
I haven’t followed it closely, but I believe some places have already shown such sentiment. Whether / how quickly that support will spread wide enough remains to be seen.
I hope it doesn’t have to come to violence, but I’ll confess I’m losing that hope as well.
As pointed out below, most were always MAGA wingnuts going on with that. The only way the populace will fix it is a national shutdown and even that would bring extreme hardship to many.
The way Gingrich and Ryan were obstructing and the general behaviour of US conservatives? This was only ever going to end one way if people didn’t vote and pay attention. There were a lot of people warning Americans, and they…we…were told to mind our own business, that it was their right not to vote, that it made no difference, that the 2nd would stop it, the institutions would stop it. It’s why I get so annoyed when they expect asylum from a vote result from us or us to step in and fix the issue…which we can’t. They told us to bugger off. Now, ‘we’re all in it together’.
That said, a lot of their progressives reminded us outsiders that it was the difference between their freedom and our oppressive governments, among other things. We always knew, as did sensible Americans, that going the violent path wasn’t going to happen or wouldn’t succeed and we said as much when it was ever raised.

By all means, edit your comments, I do it all the time and often don’t note it when it’s really minor. But when you significantly change what you wrote, good to note that.

If you open your history books on page 1938 CE, you’ll find that Polish isn’t white enough.
But also, yeah, it’s probably not just about race. For all the accusations I could level at Trump, principled racism isn’t among them. He judges people not by the color of their skin, but by the value of their bribes and flatteries.
