Looking for an alternative to the fitness device I wear now. How does an Apple Watch react to cold weather? Meaning as low as -10° C?

    Absolutely fine as long as it is on your hand which is +36. Even taking it off for 3 hours and keeping at -8 does not make any noticeable difference.

    I run outside down to roughly 0F to -5F… only staying inside when frostbite within 30 min is possible (my runs are longer than 30 min). I’ve never had any problems with my watch (previously S3, currently S6). I do use a polar h10 though, both AWs I’ve had have trouble locking onto HR during my runs.

      I noticed the same thing with my S5. Sometimes it tracks heart rate well but sometimes it just doesn’t. Tightening the band doesn’t seem to help. I was looking at getting a polar h9 because of it.

    I have had problems in the past if it ends up uncovered, or only under a single layer in windy conditions (wind chills) - the cold can zap the battery so quickly. If it’s not exposed and protected from the wind chill, it should be okay.

    It’s routinely below zero F here, gets down to -20 on occasion. I have the three, and besides needing to push the crown harder than normal its business as usual.

    I’ve never had any issues with mine and we frequently get anywhere from 0 to -45°C through the winter. Of course not outside much in that frigid weather but I’ve done -30°C no problems.

    I wore my ultra in -15f weather last year and it performed amazing. No hiccups at all.

    My series 4 apple watch will die and reboot and go to low battery status when i govtunning outside in anything colder than around 40 degrees F. People here are saying wear it under your sleeve but i tend to look at my heart rate and watch quite often when running so im constantly pulling it outnlf my sleeve. Some daya r better than lthers but the alple watch has never been too great in the cold for me.

    Been in Iceland for a week. While it’s been a bit warm, the other night it was -7*C while we were out looking at the northern lights. The watch did not care.

    I run with mine in winter at about minus 10 Celsius and uncovered. It sometimes randomly switches off, and the battery depletes faster. But thats normal. If you have it covered then your body heat will prevent it from doing that.
