I think you can make that by painting yogurt or something and waiting.
Pretty much - you put moss in a blender first, then mix it with yoghurt, then paint it on stuff, then assuming it’s the right kind of moss for that environment, it will grow into new moss, in the shape of what you painted.
I knew it wasn’t a natural formation, but wasn’t sure if the moss was growing on something or it was achieved differently. This makes sense.
I suppose a happy face is about as good as we could hope for.
IIRC buttermilk will also work.

Moss =/= mould
You have to inoculate it with the moss first. This works IIRC because modern buttermilk isn’t the leftover liquid from when butter is churned anymore, it’s, somewhat like yogurt, milk that’s been inoculated with a specific strain of bacteria to make it thicker and give it a specific texture and taste.
