Besides camera quality and battery life
Let’s just say the only thing I’m freaking waiting for is for them to unlock the app grid and let us put apps wherever we want. I don’t even care about the custom icon crap, I just want to put all my apps on the bottom of my Home Screen without having to use widgets I don’t need to push all my folders down to the bottom. Back when I used Android long long ago, I always had just the bottom two rows of apps and an empty space above to see my wallpaper, I liked the minimal clean look and be able to see my wallpaper when I’m actually using my phone and not just on my Lock Screen. Other than that my iPhone does literally everything I need it to and it’s my only device. TV, Movies, YouTube, Social media, photography and videography, editing, rendering, occasional gaming, finance, business, everything is done just on my phone I don’t even own a TV let alone computer or tablet etc. iPhones and smartphones in general have peaked. Until we have some crazy technological innovation, they’re gonna stay basically the exact same with spec improvements. Foldables still are janky and damage stupid easily for $1700+ devices… and they aren’t good for the general public besides basically literal office workers that don’t do anything besides sit there all day. The plastic “glasstic” screens dent with a finger nail or the pixels bleed in less than a year… give it another 5-10 years and we’ll see something insane happen but till then it’s gonna be much of the same we’ve had. Sorta how we went from these tiny ass smartphones with sub 300p displays, all the way to 2.5k displays in less than 10 years. Just gotta give it time. Till then start saving some money and rock your favorite iPhones till they lose support unless they come out with something insane before that point!
Android has had this for over a decade…
No dip Sherlock… we know this, I was just saying this is all I’m waiting for and only thing the iPhone lacks for me, not enough for me to ditch my iPhone that has a far more powerful processor than any Android phone and works far better with better app quality as well. Android may have more features, but those features are barely used even by Android users and they are way behind in quality when it comes to apps, performance consistency, and processor power.
I want the magic eraser feature and the one that knocks out All noise that is shown on one of the new Google phones ads.
I want a resizable Media player widget. Don’t just have it take up half the bottom screen on the Lock Screen.
Oof there is so much to improve. Desktop mode, background downloads, icon placement, pen support, revamp of notifications, work profiles
Such a powerful processor wasted
A lot after the last “update”. 17.1.1 turned my new iPhone into a POS.
Personally hardware wise it’s pretty good. I would just say faster charging. Reverse wireless charging that works with watch or AirPods etc.
But iOS is where things can really improve. It’s honestly not that great. More form over function
Dreaming here, I’d really like to see an iPhone fold… iPhone on top, iPad mini on the inside
When Apple will make a foldable iPhone, where the folding screen is basically an iPad, it can run iPad apps, multi apps in the same screen…, and they do something like Dex on Samsung, but having MacOS!
That would be indeed the ultimate device
I want Apple Pencil support. Then I’ll be happy.
It’s a hard question to answer because you just don’t know where technology might go next. A couple decades ago, you might have asked how much better flip phones can get, and here we are today…
Personally, one of my dreams is a phone that I can stretch to become bigger if I need the screen size, and then I can just squish/fold/whatever it back down to fit in my pocket. Maybe through some magic, we’ll get full frame camera sensors in phones? Long-distance wireless charging? And of course there’s silicon improvements—it would be pretty cool to have the equivalent of a i9 14900k and a 4090 in your pocket.
Uh, a more robust file management system, separate volume controls for various uses (media, calls, alarm, etc), more cohesive Notifications, and faster Charging speeds. I’m sure there’s more but that’s just off the top of my head.
Base iPhones at 6’3 display
A universal back gesture doesn’t make any sense. Windows Phone had a dedicated back button. Which was a mistake. There are many situations where there isn’t a logical “back”. It should only be available when it makes sense.
Something like routines from Samsung
Two apps side by side. A back button. A close all apps button or option.
I just switched from a Samsung s9+ to the iPhone 15 pro max. It’s only been a week. Love the phone but those 3 features are really missed right now
5 apps per row on homescreen would be nice
Especially on the larger models. We should also be able to resize our keyboards.
