growth is connected to progression. the story of how next generation will be better. but the betterment is promised through material imcrease. more roads, more swimming pools, greater sporting events, better standards, faster internet.

futurism is the contract of progression. it faithfully promises us flying cars, moon travel, eradication of cancer, the end of poverty, zero pollution plains, hyper realistic simulations, green growth cities. maybe not now, but eventually.

it is a religion of progression. the decentralized religion of the machine. adapting to the temperature of the people. studying the people to figure how to manage them.

but the machine only works through people. it is the people that let themselves become coggs.

humans are like elements; we can be fire or water. as fire we destroy, as water we flow. as water we become the ocean, as fire we disrupt, we become great, everybody will remember us. but nothing will be left. we can choose to be or not to be.

so why would we choose not to be? why would we choose fire when water keeps us afloat? it is because they dont see they are hurting themselves. they dont see how the fires will engulf everything.

water shows how letting be remediates the world. turning us away from the competing, the machine; towards the samworking, samliving, samholding, humanity.

our task is therefore to turn fire into water
