Popular mechanics still had those cheesy/scammy mail in ads when I read it in the 90s.

I always wanted to build the hovercraft you could supposedly build with old vacuum cleaners, but in my heart I knew it either wouldn’t work or would be super expensive for a kid.

I wonder if some YouTuber has tried building from those scammy old plans…

Seems everything you’d buy through the mail in those days, both sham and legit products alike, was sold could be bought C.O.D.
