I tried to imbue it with a Wand of Disintegration and the game immediately crashed. I was still in the mirror room at the time.

I’m playing Battlemage, and have the talent that returns the previous staff wand once per player level, not that the staff currently appeared to have an imbued wand, not even Magic Missile.

Update:

This time I quit my game before trying again so it would save. The crash happened again, so it’s repeatable. I was not in the mirror room this time, and trying to imbue other wands crashes, too.

    If you imbue your staff, does that effectively mean you get to take back 2 items? One is the wand you imbued and 2 is the item you select at the end of the quest.

      You can’t take this staff back with you. It’s from the mirror, and mirror items can’t be taken back.
