I’m out. And looking back, I wish I could say it was the homophobia, the transphobia or just the crude racial essentialism. It should’ve been anyone of those things and had I not reached my breaking point it surely would’ve been. However, my “what the fuck” moment came when I saw people not only wiling to minimize or excuse the J6 attacks, but to go so far as to laugh at them — like it’s all a big joke that a nuclear armed super power came within an inch of falling to insurrectionist fascists. If you honestly think that’s a joke and are unable (or unwilling) to see the connection between IRL extremism and irony-tinged internet larping not unlike what often goes on here, then we have nothing to say to each other.
