The family of a 75-year-old man who died days after an Oregon sheriff’s deputy allegedly broke his ribs and punctured his lung over a dispute about the man’s backyard barbecue has filed a $3.85 million lawsuit.
The suit faults Benton County Sheriff’s Deputy James “David” Young for pushing Dennis Sachet, whom the suit says was 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 124 pounds, against a car and then pinning him to the ground after a neighbor called in a complaint that Sachet was violating a summer burn ban.

If the piggies can’t do a job propperly … but then there is this. Cops are usless. They only serve the interest of money and they are not apart of the community. Devils live amounst us. Field, who has lived in Oregon but is currently licensed to practice law in California and lists past criminal defense work in Washington on his LinkedIn page, has not been charged with possession of child pornography or any other crimes in Oregon.
But Portland police say they still have an open investigation into Valenzuela’s claim that Field possessed child pornography in Portland and are asking the public to contact child abuse detectives with any information at crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov, reference case number 25-218504.
And the alleged assailant got five years. He should walk.
Why was a cop even there? He was violating a burn ban. Isn’t that enforced by the fire marshall?
Nah, from what I understand the fire marshall usually puts the rules together. Then it falls on local officials to make sure they are followed

I guess it is when pg&e are involved, but normally it isn’t so direct.
