We should honor that not bomb these people and we should ask what is driving the eruption of regional conflict not wave our hands and dismiss them as “just” pirates cursed to keep reoccurring in the same place for mystical reasons.
There is no way to meaningfully define “the center of the world” or the most important part of the world’s surface in terms of how much outsized impact it has upon the rest of the globe, but especially with the Suez Canal I think it is easy to say with confidence that the meeting of the Red Sea and The Gulf Of Aden would be high up on the list if you could.
What the hell are we doing bombing the center of the world then? Not that bombing somewhere more remote isn’t bad too but holy smokes if the world runs on shipping than we must see Yemen and other countries as important centers of it.
We can all agree the worst place to bomb is the center of a large village or city and if the world is one big village or city that means bombing Yemen is bombing the center of our global community.
