Not all of us. Any kind of praise or compliment is awkward like someone trying to put a crumpled dollar bill into a vending machine.

Anybody got sources on this effect? When I search I see a bunch of wellness blogs, but no studies or clinic articles (which makes me worried).

Wrong, idiot, I don’t trust praise and respond to ridicule with escalation.

    Fight me.

    /S

    But no that’s literally nonsense.

My friend, we’re all wired a little differently. Sometimes that wiring shifts by the day, or if our social battery is used up, or if we’ve been burned a lot. Also, of you’ve got AuDHD it can potentially make you suspicious because you have a hard time picking up any cues regarding the praise to tell if someone is bullshitting you or not. And yeah, praise can be awesome, as long as it’s from a trusted source.

Yeah, because we’re kind of hardwired to be sexual creatures, just as we’re hardwired to be social creatures. Reproduction is the point of life, after all.

Repression and uncomfortableness with pleasure, sex, kink, all these things, is largely a cultural construct devised and pushed by those in charge, and not necessarily a natural effect.

      Everything mostly is.

Like, much of who you are is based on sex hormones.
