MicroVision’s IRIS long-range lidar sensor has been selected by Overland AI, a developer of autonomous ground systems for defense, for integration into its recently launched next-generation autonomous ground vehicle, IBEX. The press release says IBEX has a 2,000-pound payload capacity and can drive over 35 mph in full autonomy, and that IRIS is a solid-state lidar intended to provide long-range perception in off-road and defense environments.
