MicroVision announced an exclusive strategic alliance with Blue-Band LLC, an intelligent transportation software and real-time traffic system integration company. Together they’ll offer a complete lidar-powered smart infrastructure solution to the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) market.

What’s in it

  • MicroVision’s short- and long-range lidar paired with Blue-Band’s IntegraOS platform, built on its Integrator-AI technology.
  • Target uses: intersection intelligence and traffic optimization, incident and hazard detection, and infrastructure modernization for transportation agencies.
  • MicroVision CCO James Byun called smart infrastructure “a compelling and near-term commercial opportunity” and said the alliance helps “convert growing demand into revenue-generating opportunities.” Blue-Band founder and CEO Kevin Yorke is also quoted.
  • No financial terms, orders, customers, or timelines were disclosed.

Why it matters for MVIS (my read) This gives MicroVision a new go-to-market channel into traffic infrastructure, one of the non-automotive markets it has been pushing, and it uses both the short- and long-range sensor lines. It also puts MVIS head to head with Ouster, which is already established in ITS lidar and is demoing at the ITS World Congress this week. Nothing is quantified yet, so the payoff depends on future agency deployments and orders.
