Be careful with the picky eater diagnosis y’all. My cat was eating a bit less over the course of a week. A few days later I took him to the vet, vet noticed jaundice, and he was dead from hepatic lipidosis 2 days later.
I don’t mean to add sadness to a funny thread. Just don’t want anyone ever to make the same mistake I did. Overweight cats going without food can be extremely dangerous for them.
Again, sorry for being a buzzkill. I just miss that guy so much. Been 3 years and it still stings every day.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my little guy going on 2 years next month. Miss him terrible too.
Yeah cat not eating is usually a sign to go to the vet ASAP but as keld said, cats prefer wide shallow dishes so their whiskers aren’t getting overstimulated while eating.
Its not about the food being fresh in most cases. Its about the placement in the bowl. If you shake the bowl they will eat the bit that is now in the middle.
Their whiskers make it unpleasant to eat the bit on the side.
