Zoox (Amazon’s robotaxi unit) is hiring: Senior/Staff Software-Hardware Integration Technical Program Manager - Autonomy (Foster City, CA)
Posted Oct 23, 2026. Base salary $212,000 - $267,000 a year.
Job description
Zoox has embarked on a highly ambitious journey to develop a full-stack autonomous mobility solution for our cities. As a technical program manager, you will work cross-functionally with engineering leaders across software, hardware, vehicle engineering, and product to drive our corporate strategy into tactical and detailed road maps that facilitate effective execution at each stage of our growth curve. You will work with each engineering team to develop project schedules, identify milestones, flag risks, estimate budgets, and clearly communicate ongoing progress.
In This Role, You Will
- Work with SW and HW engineering leaders and their TPMs (Perception, Prediction & Behavioral ML, TeleGuidance, Planning & Controls, Collision Avoidance System, Sensors, Compute, Vehicle Platform) to build one integrated HW-SW roadmap, timeline and set of deliverables
- Drive HW-SW integration programs end to end. This covers sensor bring-up (cameras, lidars, radars), compute platform transitions (GPU, memory, SoC) and how they affect Autonomy software performance, latency and resource budgets
- Line up SW release trains and vehicle integration milestones, and manage the dependencies and handoffs between teams
- Drive cross-functional Autonomy teams to build and ship solutions that improve driving behavior
- Find HW-SW integration and program risks early, and build plans to reduce them
- Build and deliver executive presentations on program status, issues, risks and accomplishments
Qualifications
- BS/MS in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of engineering program management experience
- A track record of driving HW-SW integration programs, ideally in autonomous vehicles, automotive, robotics, aerospace or consumer electronics
- Working knowledge of AV sensors (cameras, lidars, radars) and compute (GPUs, memory, embedded and accelerated platforms)
- Experience with AI/ML, autonomous vehicles, computer vision, large language models, reinforcement learning, simulation, or automotive/aerospace processes
- Deep familiarity with software development processes, plus understanding of HW development cycles and build phases
- Skill with program tools and methods such as Gantt charts, risk matrices, Smartsheet and JIRA
- A strong track record of managing complex cross-functional projects and solving problems
- The ability to keep the big picture in view and to communicate clearly and concisely for each audience
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to visualize KPIs and program risks
Bonus Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with sensor and compute systems and how they integrate with autonomy software
- Experience developing and scaling strategy, processes, plans, procedures and reporting, and handling escalations
- Strong references that show you build good working relationships with senior leaders, program managers and engineers across functions
MVIS relevance
This role owns “sensor bring-up (cameras, lidars, radars)” and “compute platform transitions” across Perception, Collision Avoidance, Sensors and Vehicle Platform. That reads like Zoox lining up its next sensor and compute generation, and new hardware cycles are when lidar sourcing gets decided. The posting names no supplier, and nothing here ties it to MicroVision. It’s a sign of an opening, not evidence of a deal.
Not advice.
