Just upgraded to 0.0.36 from fdroid (likely Izzy repo because I doubt fdroid was that fast compiling this newest version released yesterday) and I’m having the same issue. Can’t get my home page to show me anything but local/new. Suppose I’ll be downgrading until they get it fixed.
