Make eWaste for the birds! 😉

From the Owl Research Institute

Our biologists and volunteers need Apple iPhone devices to run specific field software that works with GPS. If you have an old iPhone 7 or newer just sitting around, we’d appreciate you making a tax deductible donation. Please make sure to erase/reset the phone (so we don’t get any of your personal data) and mail to Owl Research Institute: PO Box 39, Charlo, MT 59824 THANK YOU!

Hah, not actually that annoyed, just being a internet goblin I guess.

Though, I was reading on my phone (client: memmy) so I couldn’t mouse over it to see where it went. I wouldn’t have clicked on it if I knew it was facebook.

If you hold the click, not sure on Iphone, but on Android usually you can share the link and usually in that screen the link appears. Other ways can exist if it shows to copy the link or similar.

Neither of these methods work for links in post bodies or comments on iOS memmy, thanks for the tips though

Fair enough. It did get me to figure out how to check links in my app after you mentioned it.

      Apologies!

You might be interested in the app URLCheck (fdroid), which shows a popup when you click a link giving you the ability to check and change it before opening it. I dont know if there is anything similar for iphones if you are on one of those.

Thanks, I’m on an iPhone (I’m waiting for an excuse to replace it for an android. So far it’s lasted 5+ years and it hasn’t degraded enough to justify buying a new phone)
