  • If you like buttons and need a good and reliable GPS go for an Ultra 1 for a lower cost.

    Get WOrkOutDoors for workouts and maps and give AutoSleep a try if you find that Apple’s sleep estimations do not suit you.

    If you want metrics similar to Garmin’s go for a subscription of Gentler Streak or Eclipse Yourself and you’re all set.



  • Until having an AW I used to track my steps with my phone only. Of course, those reflected only the outdoors steps and the ones registered during my phone calls (I like to walk while talking over the phone).

    After wearing an AW I learned that I am doing a lot of steps indoors, all counting against the rings.

    Also, if you wear the watch while doing house chores, the heighten HR will also count against the activity rings.

    If you have heart risk, the high/low HR alerts could be useful.

    The stand-up notifications are also very useful if you’re sedentary or work from home.

    Setting timers for coffee / tea / cooking is also a godsend.
