You expect him to put a barcode scanner up there or some shit? The video itself makes some of the same points you do. And yeah YouTube is full of clickait, but if you’re gonna be on YouTube, do as the YouTubers do.
Edit: also, he usually does astronomy stuff. The nebula is just his normal background
Baahb@feddit.nlto science@lemmy.world•Experimental Evidence No One Expected! Is Human Consciousness Quantum After All?3·1 year agoI mean I get what you’re saying but this seems super short sighted. There is good reason to not jump to quantum effects as an explanation for anything unknown. That said, dismissing evidence that suggests that the brain makes use of quantum effects because “quantum mysticism.” It frankly seems far more likely that immensely complicated that’s had billions of years to evolve, such as a brain, would make use of available phenomena even if it’s not something we understand. Note that I’m not suggesting magicy magic quantum physics is secretly magic, simply that mechanically there’s no reason why some parts of consciousness would not make use of quantum effects.
You’re assuming I don’t always have my phone in my hand anyways.
Elder statesman millennial here (38 at this point). There’s a pocket on my phone case. I have to carry a phone. Why not make my phone my wallet?
Hard to wear clothing that both keeps sun off and heat out.
Bad faith argument. The topic of discussion is reasonable in city trips, not cross country slogs. Op is frustrated his city banned public funding for trains, ergo his question is about getting around his city. Your statement, exposure to the elements, is made more eloquently elsewhere, due to things like rain and snow.

You should be able to get a tow pretty easily, but you will want to find a mechanic first, unless you are SURE the vehicle is dead, so that you can tell the truck driver where to take it.
Else they can scrap it, (assuming it’s broke) or take it to their yard for holding, which they’ll charge you extortionate rent for.

Baahb@feddit.nlto United States | News & Politics@lemmy.ml•A sergeant with the City University of New York’s Department of Public Safety told pro-Palestinian protestors he supports “killing all you guys” during a graduation ceremony.24·1 year agoAcab is not about there being good cops that are drowned out by bad cops. Acab is that, by definition, all cops are bastards. There might be good people that become cops, but they either stop being cops or stop being good people, because it’s a requirement of the job. Anyone who abides by the “thin blue line” to protect their corrupt buddies is by definition corrupt, and cops, by definition follow the thin blue line or they lose their badge.
