Great to see Anthropic continue to have a backbone here and push back against this US administration. Initially hearing they were working with the government made me never want to use Claude, but now I’m hoping keep up the fight.

Their comment is how America is viewed by the outside world. You seem offended by that and try to distract with offensive things in their country, but we should be offended that this is how people view America. But it is not their fault and it is completely valid.
Our beautiful countryside does not make up our change the fact that we are the most violent country in the world. And that we are known for that. Be offended that is our legacy and try to change it internally. But don’t blame and shame people who view our flawed country accurately.
I normally love this guy’s videos, but this one just didn’t hit for me.
Now I fully agree with his stance and arguments. But it was just hammering in the same point over and over. I couldn’t get past a half hour.
And when he brought up fracking gas and using that as electricity source as a good thing when it is still a single use burn and done resource just like he has been arguing against gasoline for… He lost me.
Still a minor gripe but clearly electric vehicles are better than gas, and laying out the cost for installing solar panels vs gas for the car was eye opening.
I’d make some shepherds pot pie type things with that for leftovers.

Given the large amount of civil liberties at risk, fighting via the court seems to be our best way to prevent the worst from sticking.
I hate that people keep bringing up free speech like that means you can say whatever you want without consequences.
Free speech means the government cannot act on what your saying alone. Anyone else and corporations are fully allowed to react anyway they want to your 1st amendment rights. Including firing you, or using their 2nd amendment rights.

I don’t think you can use contempt outside of the courtroom.
Like if the court rules you can’t deport someone and you do after the fact, you can’t hold the gov or lawyer in contempt after the ruling takes place. If it’s an ongoing case, sure. But if there is a final ruling that’s ignored, I don’t think the judicial branch has any power over the executive for ignoring them.
Checks and balances procedure would be impeachment by the house.

What is so hard to believe about someone acting on their own beliefs to try to kill one of the most hated and divisive people in our present time in history.
Or why is it hard to believe that the SS failed in their duty to actively protect the president or president elect. Not like that hasn’t happened in US history ever. (Regan, Kennedy, Lincoln…).
