It is apparently already having an affect on recruiting and hiring.

Winnipeg@lemmy.ca•Are there legitimate grocery stores in your area which would not benefit from this measure?
1·7 hours agoThe problem is determining tax status by who sells it, rather than the product itself. Why should a sub sandwich be tax free at Superstore, but taxed at Mom & Pop’s corner convenience store? What happens to retailers who provide prepared meals that are meant to be reheated at home? Are they taxed if standalone, but tax free if they relocate inside a Safeway?

The bill, as it is written determines if a law was broken by how the aggrieved party feels. Which is absolutely ridiculous.

Sports@beehaw.org•Transgender women athletes banned from Olympics by new IOC policy
1·3 days agoXX chromosomes are the base requirement. Olympics also tests for elevated testoserone.
“Testosterone is measured for female athletes in the Olympics. The regulations set a limit of 5 nmol/L testosterone for athletes competing in certain events, specifically for distances between 400 meters and 1 mile. Athletes with conditions that cause high testosterone levels may need to suppress their testosterone levels to compete in these events. Additionally, the World Athletics Council has recently reduced the limit to 2.5 nmol/L for athletes with differences in sexual development”
So both conditions, plus others I’d imagine, have to be met.
I agree with your statement, but at the same time it also doesn’t increase our military capabilities.
It was narrowly defined. Not anymore with this bill.

Sports@beehaw.org•Transgender women athletes banned from Olympics by new IOC policy
51·5 days agoI’m going to go out on a limb here and say XX chromosomes are required. So if you consider chromosomes part of genetics, that would be it.
Goal achieved from a bit of smoke and mirrors:
“The benchmark was partly achieved by an internal reorganization of the federal government, which has seen some agencies, such as the Canadian Coast Guard, moved under the auspices of the Defence Department and therefore counted toward the NATO target. It was also achieved through a substantial pay raise for members of the military and by pouring money into base infrastructure and overhaul.”

What does the union expect? Every strike means more customers leave, never to return.

Spiking the ball during a volleyball match or punching someone in the face during a boxing match is hardly an illegal move. Lia Thomas, who was ranked 400th as a male swimmer became a trans female swimmer and broke records. At the time, she didn’t do anything illegal.
Is it controversial to state a male’s body is stronger and has a higher compete level than a female’s body?
