And by galvanizing, I mean people who were like “This isn’t what I voted for!” and suffering, suddenly popping back into full cult mode.

But of course, at the same time, I know it doesn’t matter. Regardless of what happened, they’d find an excuse to do a crackdown, or have trump mumble some shit to rile up the cult. Or they’d just do some more fashy shit with no prior justification anyway if they never got an inciting incident to fill the excuse role.

I guess I just want all this to resolve with minimal deaths, for the regime to topple and the members and the media/influencers who helped get us here to be tried and convicted, and other ones like the supreme court getting impeached so there’s tons of precedent being set to avoid this happening again in 80-100 more years. But it definitely won’t stay minimal or involve court rulings if we start getting more and more shootings of specific targets and if we start seeing retaliation following said assassinations.

Though when right-wingers assassinated those Minnesota democrats some months back, or when Pelosi’s husband got beaten nearly to death in his own home, Kirk and Trump, and other figureheads, as well as a flood of nobody right-wingers on social media who are all now up in arms and angry about Kirk’s death, just got smug and cheered and jeered about it. So, thoughts and prayers for dickhead and the family he leaves behind, and I guess we just wait and see what comes next in this little circus of bullshit.

Some people use benadryl like a recreational drug. From descriptions I’ve read it just sounds horrible, your vision gets artifacts that look like spiders over every surface, some people see a man with a hat, which is what this cosplay is supposed to be, and I’m probably forgetting other stuff. There have been a number of deaths associated with people doing this to themselves.

Hundred percent this. Rimworld is a streamlined but pale imitation of the crunchy janky unmatchable experience of Dwarf Fortress. I played Rimworld a lot, over 900 hours. Until I realized all I ever did was play it for the mods. I did not like vanilla, the game is too arbitrary and annoying with its fetish for random events.

Whereas even when Dwarf Fortress bullshits things, it still feels like things happened behind the scenes to lead you there. DF is more about the simulation and the illusion of simulation, Rimworld is more about a man shoving dice up your ass and saying “I have decided you are having fun wrong, all your colonists now have exploding penis disease that makes them randomly die, at the same time that the digging raiders are sieging your base and there is a radiation storm and insectoid swarm so big your game is lagging, good day” and people just clap at that for some reason.

I always tweaked literally everything with Rimworld, with these absurd unstable modlists because the game was plainly unpleasant for me otherwise. This mod tweaks these two annoying game mechanics and has three dependencies, this mod tweaks this other thing and has one dependency, this mod… etc.

So half my play time was waiting for Rimworld’s main menu to load, and the other half was always spent chasing cascading game-breaking bugs because the combination of mods I needed, to not hate the game, was never stable. So then I never touched Rimworld again, because I stopped pretending I was its target audience, I’m not. It’s made for people with different interests.

With Dwarf Fortress, in the pre-steam versions, I only strayed from vanilla occasionally. The game was and is always good enough for me unaltered. Although admittedly I do like adding extra creatures, even back in the day with raw file edits, and Steam Workshop really makes that annoyingly easy. Wish the built-in mod managing UI was better, but then again, Rimworld’s sucked too, and I always replaced it with a better one via a mod, and eventually an external program (rimPy) entirely.

Nope, I can never touch Rimworld again, it’s not worth my time.

It used to in the past, but generally the deeper the reddish brown, all the way up to stripey black, the worse it is for trans people. The deeper the blue, the better. So the pale colors are basically the middle danger/safety ones.

I got Boost once they released the Lemmy version, and then I got one single PragerU ad. That pissed me off, a lot, those shitheads are my enemies. I basically coin-flipped between picking a different app that wouldn’t give ad space to those pricks, and just buying the ad-free thing, but laziness prevailed and I bought the thing instead. Still on Boost to this day.

Fuck advertising, the entire advertising industry, and the plain concept of forcing your brand in front of a person’s eyes non-consentually, should all disappear in the future.

I hadn’t read for fun for like a decade and a half. But in the last few months, I got myself hooked on yuri manga, and then yuri light novels. I kept hitting a wall whenever a manga wasn’t done yet but the light novels were. I just kept saying “fuck it” and finishing with the novel, rather than waiting forever for the rest.

It happened with Otherside Picnic, it happened with I’m in Love with the Villainess, and a couple of others. Then I started just buying more ebooks, standalone stories without manga adaptations, for the fuck of it. Reading is great.

Oh come on. Y’all would be silent should the day come where Newsom gets the primary, wins the presidency, and proceeds to keep most of Trump’s fascist power grab bullshit in play for his own enrichment. Not a peep should he leave all the ICE torture camps open, and should he either keep all us trans folk in them after DJT sends us there before his term ends, or else starts sending us in the first place if Trump never gets the opportunity to do so. Pick a better fucking candidate in the primary, we don’t need to pick fucking Newsom.

I just watched a Kyle Hill video yesterday about Mirrored life forms, where their DNA spins the opposite direction from ours, and how that would make them exceptionally incompatible and dangerous to us, like nanobot Grey Goo but biological. And how that would potentially wipe out all life on earth, and how we should definitely not be screwing around with engineering weird new forms of life.
