Try applying the theme and then toggling the “Match System Light/Dark Theme” toggle on and then off (or vice versa).
There’s a known issue with posting in non-English languages. The dev team is working on it.
We believe the lag is actually elsewhere but you’re noticing the slowness through the theme switching. There’s a lot of work going into improving the overall performance of the app so hopefully this will disappear with those improvements.
This came up in the developer discussion so it’s on the radar of devs.
This is definitely on lemmy’s end and there’s not much memmy can do without causing issues.
This should be made into a stickied post. Between here, Discord, and GitHub there’s a lot of noise so the most attention seems to be paid to the last.
I’m working on more updates to subscriptions/favorites, but for now the focus is on bug fixes and performance. The dev team seems really receptive to various customization opportunities and the pay much closer attention to GitHub issues so I’d add a feature request there.
The devs are working on a major rewrite of image handling. Support for albums is on the list, but there are several other issues that have arisen during the rewrite that are taking priority.
Holy cow that gif is sped up. Maybe I’ll look at that too.
I just realized after posting that I think there’s a feature request to make links navigate within app too.

Are you one of the devs? I’m a software engineer myself who prefers mobile dev if there’s any need for some extra eyes/hands.
I guess my rationale was that I didn’t enter anything so I’m not searching for anything.
I’m a dingus
OP,
I’ve been a user of Memmy for approximately 3.5 weeks. I’ve been a contributor to the app for about 3 weeks. I believe my first interaction with this community was to mention a bug or feature shortcoming. The second interaction was in Discord asking about how I can get involved.
Nobody here is getting paid. Complaining doesn’t help anything. If you want to log issues, submit issues in GitHub. If you want to help, join the conversation in Discord.
I’m just a fraction of the contribution of a few of the main devs and this is my take:
Realize we all have lives and jobs. None of us are making any money off Memmy.
If you don’t like where Memmy is, get involved.
If you don’t want to get involved, Fuck Off.
