I don’t disagree, but like others here, I just don’t think something like this is enforceable. This is an inappropriate space for children, but so is 99% of the internet, and I would probably rather a kid learn from people here rather than go on 4chan or Reddit. I do agree that a kid openly stating their age should probably be a banable offence, as it isn’t a good idea to state stuff like that on a public forum. But again, it’s impossible to enforce something like that. I just don’t think this place really has any ability to solve this problem.

Yes. Because of the way discord’s messaging system works, it’s virtually impossible to discuss these things without it becoming a shouting match, and terminally online ultras’ only argument is to shout down their opponents, so they love discord (and twitter, for similar reasons)

Could it be that entry level positions require 12 years experience and don’t even offer a living wage? No, it must be because the kids these days are lazy.

I have no idea what they teach in political science classes, but I honestly think that they could get a better understanding of politics from playing Paradox games than whatever they teach in them. The way they talk it just seems to be “ignore every single actual bit of useful information about politics and use big words to cover up the fact that you have a toddler’s understanding of politics.”

Yeah, it does feel like it is picked for memorability and repeatability, just used as an empty floating signifier that just means “bad things” so the audience can attribute whatever specific meaning they want onto it, and the fact that this has picked up steam suddenly out of nowhere does make it seem like the US is trying to manufacture consent for something.

Sometimes I like to watch a Soviet made documentary about capitalism, then an American documentary about Communism to compare and contrast. Soviet documentaries tended to go into great detail and analyse how the system operates vs how it presents itself to the world. The US anti-communist stuff by contrast is just “They’re all evil killers and everyone is trying to escape from evil communism!” no substance, no actual arguments, just relying on the ignorance of their audience.

It really does seem that way, they just keep doing it and it is less effective each time, and what’s more, it also will weaken any future sanctions on any countries, as the rest of the world can look at the predictable pattern the west is using and prepare their economies to deal with it.
