I wouldn’t be surprised if trump is looking to use this for an eventual “out” … throw a tantrum that he’s not getting help so he’ll pull out of the gulf region completely, only do the bombings but leave the strait and it’s cargo issues as the unresolved mess they are.

They try to uphold a smidgeon of being a required institution now and then but that is mostly out of self preservation so they are still legitimized when kicking downwards to the common man’s problems.

I think he never understood how tariffs work.
