Is it imperative you’re miserable and barely scraping by. Top 1 priority. Actually, it’s in your best interest, but you just don’t realize it!

This is one of the most capitalist takes you’ll ever see on lemmy. I wonder if this person is a landlord or has landlords in the family…

Let everyone go early then, fucker
Nobody wants to admit this, but you didn’t own your Windows 8/7/Vista/XP PC either. Or any of the previous iterations, or any MacOS devices.
It was just less noticeable and invasive. Same idea, same process, but simply closer to ‘in early development’ than to ‘final build’.
Windows 11 isn’t the problem. The problem started long before at least half of us were even born. Until recently most ignored it, because it ‘wasn’t that bad’. Then it got really bad.
Ads in general, sure. They work wonders, even on people who consider themselves immune to advertisement.
The post is about targeted ads, however. Do they really offer any substantial advantage? Let alone one worth all the data harvesting? Probably not.

6·11 days agoWho would have guessed the moron with no real education, knowledge or experience in any profession, whose companies barely make it despite all the unfair advantages you can think of, is clueless just like he has been every day for the last 54 years of his life.

292·11 days agoIf he’s really building a nuclear bunker, then it’s pretty much a confirmation that he’ll not be leaving office in 2028.
It’ll not be finished before 2027. There’s no way he’s building a bunker to potentially use within a maximum time frame of 2 years.
Not to mention it’s another sign that his administration is preparing for a war involving nuclear weapons. Which nobody but the USA is capable of igniting. So, yeah… Great times ahead.

28·12 days agoIn a considerably more ideal world than the one we live in, all games, not just mods, would be free and everyone could just donate to developers of games they found worth the money.
It’ll probably take a long time for that world to materialize, since it’d require all corporations and billionaires to disappear forever first.
In the meantime, either make free mods with an option to donate, or make your own games. Personally I think it’s a waste of time and effort to spend so much of your life on mods for AAA games. I could understand if it was just for fun, but this guy seems to treat this way more seriously.
Usually I don’t judge an organization by their profits, since it isn’t very indicative of its products’ and/or services’ value.
But yeah, in this case it makes sense and is absolutely hilarious.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Steam Deck has hit a milestone with over 25,000 games rated Playable or Verified by Valve (7,518 Verified, 17,492 Playable), up from 20,000 in June 2025
42·12 days agoIt should be noted that a lot of ‘unknown’ and even ‘unsupported’ games work just fine, so it’s hard to say what the actual number of ‘playable’+ games is.
As an example - Resident Evil 5 is currently marked as ‘unsupported’, but works flawlessly out of the box. So far I’ve played for about 15 hours and the experience has been perfect.

28·12 days agoI was very interested in this app, but unfortunately it’s only available for iOS. So partially pointless when it comes to boycotting USA.
In addition, as some other commenters pointed out, it apparently only allows 2 scans a day for free. Very American if you ask me.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Vortex Mod Manager from Nexus Mods will be supported for Linux/SteamOSEnglish
1·12 days agoNo, I didn’t use that. This is the first time I’m hearing about it.
I used Mod Organizer 2 with the Linux version of Viva New Vegas. It didn’t work, so I manually installed all of the mods, then solved some remaining issues. Took a while, but works flawlessly. Performance and battery life are pretty much the same as the vanilla game.
I was going to write the process down, but by the time I got to it I forgot some parts unfortunately. I couldn’t find any working guide, so I was mixing several and seeing what works in which cases.
