  • I get what you’re saying and I’ve heard that stuff too ngl. And I think Arabs are also pretty damn racist, not more or less than any other group of people.

But I think in general the more educated people are able to make the distinction, and if you see Jewish voice for Peace, Queers for Palestine, Irish bloc, etc. fighting with their lives to support us whereas Arab governments and even religious figures are largely silent and complicit, it changes something. We see it and the people in Gaza see it, and if there’s ever a free Palestine it should be free for everyone.

I honestly wish there’s a way out of this, but if there is it’s gonna be a long one.

يا هلا يا هلا ظنيت أنا لحالي هون :D

  • Nope, the pogroms didn’t happen in a vacuum that’s what I’m saying. They were horrible and I blame the Arabs for carrying them out. But nevertheless it was a calculated strategy by the British, French and the Zionists to support whatever dirtbags would be willing to roll with their strategies.

Examples are the Jews in Morocco: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Migration_of_Moroccan_Jews_to_Israel Ironically, they have been living there for 2,000 years and their trouble began when the French Nazi collaborators started persecuting the Jews and eventually Israel had to pay money to the Morroccan Jews because they didn’t want to come there.

Many migrants became disgruntled at what they perceived to be racist attitudes among the Ashkenazi towards them. In this early period the majority (70%) either wished to return to Morocco, or advised their families not to follow them to Israel, given the discrimination they encountered.

Whole article is worth reading and there are similar stories in other countries, because they were Arabs first and then Jewish, Muslim, Christian whatever, but this changed drastically thanks to imperialism and their divide and conquer strategy.

The Zionists didn’t give a shit about Arab Jews, they were just an instrument to get a Jewish majority in Palestine, because even Palestinians Jews were divided on Zionism: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_Jews

Until today there are Palestinian Jews who are anti-Zionist because they are native to that land and Zionism has ruined their lives equally.

  • Thanks for the explanation and equally thanks for the kind words!

I think I get where you’re coming from, and I think both Ukrainians and Palestinians have the same problem that they’re just pawns one some Cold War 2.0 geopolitics chess board. We are truly fucked. You know I somehow get the whole thing with parroting what the people backing you say, but I always believe you could just shut up and that’s better than being a hypocrite. But meh I also don’t take it at face value.

As for the Palestinian leadership, they’re simply corrupt, they don’t represent us and we don’t want them. Fatah in the West Bank they are a puppet of the Israeli regime and they work against their own people. Hamas in Gaza, they’re also corrupt and additionally an extended arm of Iran, although only to an extent. They’re considered part of the resistance but even religious, conservative people aren’t fans of them. Yeah I’m honestly sorry for all of their existence, as said they don’t represent us.

  • I get why people want to think that it’s just realpolitik but then he‘d need to be actually silent. He has always been vocally pro-Israel though. Israel has surely escalated things by magnitudes since October 7 but they’ve been colonizing us for more than 100 years now, so it’s not like the dynamics were different before October 7.

As an example this article from April this year: https://kyivindependent.com/zelensky-calls-allies-to-defend-ukraine-recalling-iranian-attack-on-israel-on-april-14/

”By defending Israel, the free world demonstrated that unity (among allies) is not only possible but 100% effective," Zelensky said after a meeting with top military and security officials . “The allies’ decisive actions prevented the success of terrorism and loss of infrastructure and forced the aggressor to cool down. The same can be done to defend Ukraine from terrorism, and Ukraine, just like Israel, is not a NATO member.”

And at this point it was already abundantly clear that there’s a genocide happening in Gaza, he could have said many things but he chose those exact words. Maybe he just doesn’t care about Palestinian life if he can get more weapons, maybe he actually believes what he’s saying, either way it’s not a good look on him. That being said, I don’t think he’s particularly bad, he’s just not better than any other hypocritical politician.

  • I‘m Palestinian and absolutely we don’t. We’re tired of just literally ANYONE wanting to rule us. What happens in Palestine is a genocide, period. What happens in Ukraine is also a genocide. I don’t want to antagonize you, but I’m honestly curious what you mean by „leaning towards“ the Palestinian side.

To me, imperialism needs to be abolished and I don’t care if the US or Russia or Iran or China does it. And imo Zelenskyy is a piece of shit for appeasing to Israel while they do literally the same to Palestinians that Russia does to Ukrainians. And in that sense, I will always be against the oppressor and it sounds a bit like there would be anything else to what happens to Palestinians than genocide & colonization.

That being said I wish you victory and peace.
