But Christians WERE in charge of the government. They didn’t do things legally in the name of god, but they were directed by their hallucinations of him just the same.
Christians did this to the image of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. There is no worming your way out of responsibility. This is not a call for the government to be REALLY Christian because the first time it wasn’t the right Christian. Very nearly every politician in the history of this country has been a Christian. Their beliefs shaped the country. Undeniably. I agree but how does that punishment get played out? Like if we manage to kick the fascists out, and rebuild a semblance of of a society, how do we pay reparations to the entire world? I agree with you, I believe. The difference being that the authoritarian nature be geared towards exclusively a group that is VOLUNTARILY JOINED and nothing else. If you want to own that much wealth, you get some fancy new governmental oversight and regulations. Congrats. I don’t believe that that has be “authoritarian” to the VAST majority of people.
