Ha. The two words I distinctly remembered learning while going on this journey are “forb” and “sedge”. The former being “I need nonwoody nongrass plants for my garden, what is the word for those plants?.” And the latter “how is this weed not considered a grass? It’s a sedge? What is that?”

Try to identify birds and trees. How did I go through life not being able to identify my natural surroundings?

3·25 days agoModel trains are a hobby that I love for other people to get into. I want to see your trains and tracks and little villages you’re proud of. I just need my basement for all my other activities!

3·25 days agoYeah, I feel for the hobby shops because there’s only so much inventory a shop can hold onto and display and sell. How long do you think they gotta display servos before somebody comes looking for them? Compare that to the big Internet stores and I don’t know how they can compete.

55·26 days agoWargaming or anything that brings people to a hobby shop. Trains, RC vehicles, and kites are most acceptable and understandable to people on the outside but still looked down on.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I'm not an artist. If I sketch something, and have an ai upscale it for me, is it still slop, vs just asking it to do everything?English
141·3 months agoLemmy largely is very anti AI art. You’re basically going to a vegan convention and asking “Is it ok if I have a little meat? As a treat?”

71·3 months agoIs there a well defined “then”? Shortcuts are hard to stop arbitrarily using. If your goal is to become a better artist I would focus more on practicing your art instead of fitting AI into your art.

I think you have created complicated rules for “piracy I enjoy/condone is good. Copying that I don’t like is bad.”
I don’t see there being a lot of room for to ever defend piracy and also hate AI influenced art

61·3 months agoThe Force Awakens wasn’t the issue?! There has never been a movie that was a bigger issue for a franchise. It was so obviously just a shot for shot reskin of A New Hope even the executives noticed it. That’s how we got to the errors with the second and third movies because The Force Awakens was so clearly garbage in writing and directing. If Abrams hadn’t fucking goofed it so hard by playing it so safe and thinking so little of his audience then none of the following errors would have had to happened.

6·3 months agoIt means it has measured your bed and the left side of your bed is higher than the right. Don’t get twisted about the graphic as it can exaggerate the shape. Look at the numbers. I don’t know off the top of my head if those are excessive

6·3 months agoIt looks like you’re either way too close to the bed or your nozzle needs to be replaced. Looks like massive over extrusion. Fat fat print lines. Your model has no printing in the diagonal yet your print has it in almost every square. Maybe you’re failing to retraction.
