Your first and last statements are good, there’s truth in them. But the whole middle bit reeks of misinformation.

If everything I’ve read and watched is anything to go by, punching somebody in the head/face can sometimes cut up your hands on the pointy and sharp bits of the skull. You should only punch if you’re familiar with those parts of the skull or have gloves on. Better off going with open hand slaps and palm strikes. Fists, elbows, knees and feet are for the torso, arms, legs, neck and groin; palms are for the face, and fingers are for the eyes. There are also a lot of places on the body where you can grab and bite, if you’re so inclined.
Maybe I’ve been awake for too long, but upon reading this, for some reason all I could think of was Sam Neill at the end of In the Mouth of Madness laughing until he breaks. Do we have that as an emote?
That is just the boar god from Princess Mononoke.
There’s a netflix movie starring Jason Mamoa called “Sweet Girl” that has a similar set up to that but I only watched it the one time so I can’t be totally sure.
Whenever I’m watching an Ip Man movie or something similar, and someone inevitably goes ,“Nobody can fight ten guys and win, not even a trained fighter, lol”, I always bring up The Mighty Atom. Even if he did use a bat, it was still TWENTY nazis, without the bat it would still be atleast ten I would think.
Edit: Also, given that he was only 5’4.5" and didn’t look anywhere near as big Pandour, Sandow, or even Maxick, I wonder how much stronger he could’ve gotten if he increased his size to be similar to them. Could he have further optimized his nazi bashing abilities to 30 nazis?
Thank you, it’s been some time since I watched it to the end, so I’d forgotten her name. But the fact they misgender her does show they’re still an awful family. That and the torture, that’s pretty bad, too.
You know, it’s kinda impressive how cool/progressive Japanese media can be in some cases while being the exact opposite in others. Like, the mental whiplash is almost worse than that of American media in some cases. If you were to play FF7 Remake or watch HunterxHunter, you’d see characters in them that are, while not the best, decent representation for people who are usually under represented. The treatment of Killua’s sister, who was amab if I understand correctly, is pretty good as shes never called anything other than her or she, iirc: the Zoldic family situation is still terrible, tho, they’re monsters. The treatment of the crossdressing segment in the FF7 Remake is VASTLY better than in the original, and the way they treated characters with none traditional… cosmetics? Aesthetics? The none heteronormative actions and appearances of the honey bee man and the pretty bodybuilder guy, is what I’m trying to say. But then you have something like Persona 5, which has a pretty terrible running gag involving two overly campy, stereotypical gay men, which, if the joke absolutely had to be in there, could have been replaced with a pair of golden girls-esque older women and probably worked better and less offensively. If the joke HAD to be in there.
While yes, certain (sometimes large) parts of (usually) monotheistic religions are definitely incompatable with progress and human decency, that mostly comes down to, imo, extreme adherence to traditionalism and intellectual stagnation among the believers of those faiths. Now certainly, polytheism has , occasionally, given a lot of people a very bad time. But, and this may not be the best example, I don’t often hear about hinduism, shinto, or taoism being involved in human rights violations/ genocides. Now, I’m not as well informed on those as I should be, admittedly, but you can see what I mean.
I agree that religion is partially responsible for the ever worsening state of the world, but it’s not, like, the root cause. Not every rich asshole thinks it was ordained by god for them to be a rich asshole, sometimes (most of the time, even) rich people are just assholes, usually because they’re rich. That may be an over simplification, but like, come on. In a world where traditionalism is less a rule and more a suggestion, religion could evolve properly and be less problematic, it’s just that, currently, that’s not going to happen.
Idk if this is at all coherent; I’m just trying to say that defining religion as just EVIL isn’t the awesomely correct take you seem to think it is, imo.
