  • Also “so and so fears for their life” is such a nothing story. It doesn’t tell you if it’s a legitimate concern, or why.

I “fear for my life” each time I fly. Despite knowing that the chances of dying while flying being significantly less than driving… Where I don’t.

I realise this network is just a propaganda machine, so the point is just to make people irrationally angry and scared of “the enemy”. But it’s so frustrating to see then get away with it so brazenly

  • As much as certain people like to proclaim reviewers are paid shills or sycophants, especially whenever a movie with diversity cast does well… The audience metric is nigh on useless half of the time.

Look at that Melania movies critic and audience score. Then see a genuinely great movie with some non white person cast in a main role get review bombed to hell and back by the same people

  • I imagine what they mean is that, in the future, GoG does what seemingly every other successful company that has “good morals” does when they get rich and famous… Renegs for more $$$

See Netflix “we’ll never have ads” and using sharing accounts as a promotional tool. And Googles “do no evil”. Etc.

Obviously they can’t undo your ability to install what you already have, but they could prevent you doing it in the future.

  • As someone else has already pointed out, they don’t reuse information in real time. They take snapshots of whatever data they are given to “train” on, and are frozen in that state until the next time.

“AI” like this has actually been around for quite a while, lots of scientific fields use stuff like this. It’s just that they are hyper focused on one specific thing and “AI” attempts to expand it to multiple things.

They’ve never been, and probably will never be, reliably accurate. It’s the sort of tool that will always need a moderator and a skeptical eye.
